Product Overview
This one piece rest is IMO a masterpiece of well thought out evolutionary design. Every detail has been considered and rendered with the best materials to produce something that will give the shooter the greatest advantage for aiming and shooting his rifles.
There are several notable features worth mentioning.
Starting at the front, the main elevation screw mechanism gives the shooter excellent mechanical advantage with a large diameter adjustment wheel that has the lowest possible friction thanks to a radial roller thrust bearing.
The windage top is the most technically refined that I am aware of, with the bag plate mounted on linear ball bearings, and adjusted with a ball screw. Here is a link to a Wikipedia article if you are not familiar. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ball_screw
The bag is securely mounted with aluminum bars down both sides and is easily adjusted for side tension on the stock.
The leveling screws (two in front one in the rear) are finely made such that a minimal effort is required to level the rest, or in the case of the rear one make smooth and convenient fine elevation adjustments of the cross hairs on the target.
Unlike the usual rear bag, this one has side plates like those for the front bag which in addition to allowing for stock fit keep the bag’s ears from shifting under the torque and recoil of firing, which gives better tracking than bags that have ears that are neither adjustable nor restrained from undesirable movement. The rest allows a multiple of mounting points for the rear bag assembly to accommodate stocks of various lengths, and a fitted spacer plate allows for raising the bag if that is needed.
While two-piece rests can do excellent work, one piece rests have the advantage of built in perfect alignment, something that many shooters neglect when setting up their two piece rests, and which takes some skill, practice and attention to detail.
One of the pleasures of our hobbies is acquiring the best equipment, and like any well designed and built tool I believe that using this rest will give the owner pleasure every time he uses it, because of the excellence of the design, and the quality of the materials and workmanship.

This past summer I purchased from you one of your rifle rests.
First of all, I want to say that there are a very few times in my life that I have purchased what I would consider the very best. Usually I have settled for less than the best because of price.
Secondly, I have seldom written to someone after making a purchase telling them how happy I am with the product I bought.
Well, I have had the summer to use and evaluate your 1000LP Rifle Rest. I have owned a few rifle rests and I can honestly say that no other rifle rest I have owned compares to the quality, precision, and ease of use as your 1000LP. I would have saved money in the long run if I had bought yours first instead of buying ‘less expensive’ rifle rests….trying to save some money.
At last I am able to see how good my rifle can shoot. Now the rest is up to me.

I called my shooting instructor Bart and told him that I was going to try to shoot 3 nickels in a row from 200 yards with my HS Precision PHR in 270 WSM. He said “ok”. The next night he called me back and told me that I should lower my expectations and began to explain how difficult my goal was. Purchased the model 1000LP and I simply can’t say enough about it. It is everything Wally advertises. Rock solid and capable of absolute precision adjustments. With this rest I was able to shoot sub 1/2 MOA groups with my 340 Weatherby. Purchase this rest and you will not regret it.

There are absolutely “NO EQUALS” to this rest on the market today. It takes shooting to a whole new level. It will make good shooters better and better shooters the best they can be if used properly and professionally. Construction is “Dead On Precise”, in part, due to it’s singular build practice and being made by Americans for Americans. As a disabled Combat Veteran, wounded in Vietnam, this rest would have a serious impact on any battlefield, anywhere in the world, if deployed with Sniper Teams. Every “Police or Sheriff Tactical Team” in the United States should own one of these rests as a training aid in shooter development, competition and worse case scenario’s if time permitted. This rest could be a game changer in long distance interdiction and could take the guess work out of shot placement due to it’s precise movement of control parts.

I purchased the 1000 rifle rest and the pistol rest. They are by far the best shooting rest on the market. It makes sighting in easy and fun. You know you are sighted in properly and accurately. Thank you for building a wonderful product. I’ve been fortunate to test and own many one piece rests. The 1000 LP is right at the top in comparison, the wind-age and elevation controls are precise, the construction is solid and clean. Although I shoot rim-fire for score, the rest is manageable moving from bull to bull. I also like the lower center of gravity and your rear bag design, very unique and feel it adds stability and dampening benefits. The rest is much easier to transport than my other one piece rests, which is a plus. When I laid my hands on this rest for the first time, I didn’t think it had the potential, was I wrong. Well done Wally, your also a true gentleman to speak with on the phone.

Without any doubt! Without any hesitation! Hands down!! The 1000LP bench rest is absolutely the BEST bench rest ever made!! Wally is an Engineering genius! NOT only the best rest ever made! This is a really nice piece of equipment. It keeps your rifle stable and is really easy to adjust. My groups have gotten smaller since I started using it. All you have to do is follow Wally’s instructional video and you’ll be successful. It has turned out to be much better than the other equipment I’ve used. It’s too bad I didn’t see the 1000LP first because it would have saved me a lot of time, trouble and money. I’ve used most of the other products available and this is better than all of them. My only complaint is that the stock height adjustment knob is too small and short making adjustments difficult when you’re sitting behind the rest while at the bench. If you buy the 1000LP I suggest that you buy the bigger/longer knob option while your at it. So other than the minor problem with the knob all I can say is that I love this product.

I have been admiring this rest for over a year and finally pulled the trigger … and I am glad I did. Initially, I thought it appeared pricey … but after looking at other rests, I found there are a number of rests at this price point and NONE provided the construction quality or value of this unit. I was looking for a stable rest that I could develop extremely accurate long-range rifles on. This rest is more then adequate for the job. The rest sits a bit lower than the photo graphs make it appear … and it is quite heavy. In combination, that makes this rest an extremely stable firing platform by keeping the recoil thrust low. I was shocked how well it managed the recoil from my 7mm magnum. Merely pushing the rifle back into position after the shot and I was back on target. Construction wise, this thing is a beast. I believe you could drop it out of a 3rd floor window and it would survive. Pity the concrete.

Wally – I thought you would like to know that I had the chance to use the shooting rest for the first time yestarday and I can honestly say my benchrest shooting scores improved, sometimes dramatically, in the case of my bolt action 30-06. The weight and precise changes you can make without having to move the entire rest seem to make all the difference. Other rests have you rearranging everything to change windage & height which, for me, seems to cause a lot of error.
Even though it was the main reason I selected your rest, I have not yet had the chance to try the handgun setup with the model 1000 rear but I’m sure it will work great. Hopefully I can get to the range sometime this week or the weekend to try it with the handguns.

Wally, after using the rifle rest, since leaving the Tulsa show. I highly recommend this rifle rest for any and all bench rest competitions. As an NRA instructor and competitor in 600 yard matches this bench rest competes and exceeds even some of the Sinclair bench rests.
Many of our club members have expressed interest in and have used my rest and all make same comment; “why does a bench rest of this precision come delivered in a nickle and dime case?” All things being equal this is absolutely the best bench rest I have used and sincerely recommend it’s use to all serious bench rest competitors.

Wally Brownlee says what he means and means what he says about his model 1000LP Rifle Rest… it will greatly improve your shooting accuracy. Anyone, what is a formula for successful target shooting? Well, try this one: POA + 1000LP Rifle Rest = POI x Fun (cubed). That is: using the model 1000LP, you hit where you aim and have big fun doing so. Folks, I’m having fun targeting shooting. Purchased the 1000LP Rifle Rest in Oct ‘10 and I love it!!! It is what Wally says it is…the best rifle rest on the market. Now I can focus on shooting and get quality trigger time at the range. For me, the drudgery of handling multiple sand bags to stabilize my weapon is over. Once I properly position the 1000LP, it stays put. I place my rifle in the attached sand bags and the rifle is stable. I can then focus on my shooting accuracy. The finely tuned windage and elevation adjustments knobs finish the setup. Bam! Results… My POI equals POA or just a click or two from it, all else considered. Watch Wally’s YouTube videos; they are very informative. Call Wally; he’s a cool guy. The model 1000LP rifle rest is what he says it is… a difference maker in your shooting accuracy. I’m much more accurate and consistent using it. I love my 1000LP, you will not find a more precision rest made anywhere. I have had the rest almost 4 years now and have not had any problem with any part of it. If you are a reloader and want a rock solid rest to work up loads,this rest is for you. As a side note,the owner/manufacturer is a very nice man willing to answer any and all questions before and AFTER your purchase.

Best out there for the money. Purchased several years ago and it remains perfect as if it had just been made. It looks like a work of art! The materials are top notch and the bags are beautiful and among the best on the market. It has held up to numerous range trips and out in the fields of New England. Now living in FL it has not made a difference to the fit and function of this rest. You will not go wrong with this purchase.

Just received my Model 1000LP and have taken it to the range four times now. I used it to help test new reloads for the 300 AAC, 243 Winchester and 30 Nosler. The temperature all days has been between 18 to 30 degrees. It has worked flawlessly!! The front and rear adjustment dials makes dialing on the bullseye precise and smooth. The quality of the rest is top notch. A lot of thought and precision has gone into the design of this rest. I can’t wait to add the recoil pad. Overall, I’m completely satisfied with this rest and it far exceeds many others I have used. Customer service was great when I ordered the product and would recommend without hesitation.
